July 14, 2018: Maternity Home Tour (North Philadelphia)

Editor’s Note: The following is an email sent by the Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia to their mailing list on July 11, 2018.

We would like to invite you to tour Guiding Star Ministries, our maternity home in North Philadelphia on this Saturday, July 14, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Please come visit and see some good news in action.

At Guiding Star Ministries, we are able to offer a real alternative to abortion vulnerable women, providing an option with an affirming, supportive choice for life.  Many expectant mothers vulnerable to abortion feel they cannot possibly provide for their baby and are in need of safe, reliable housing. Guiding Star provides housing and so much more.  The help extends beyond the walls of the house, as we provide baby supplies, job training and connections, and parenting training and support to families in the community.

Currently at Guiding Star there are six moms, nine children and two unborn babies on the way.  This year five Guiding Star resident moms have given birth to five beautiful babies, including a 5.4 lb baby girl this past Sunday!

To visit Guiding Star on Saturday, July 14, between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m., please RSVP to our office at mail@prolifeunion.org or call 215-885-8150.   We keep the address confidential and will provide it to you when you RSVP.

See you there!

The legacy of ‘Humanae Vitae’ at 50 years (CatholicPhilly.com)

Editor’s Note: As our world suffers the loss of stable marriages and families, rampant objectifying of the human person, #MeToo, it’s clear that Pope Paul VI’s Humanae Vitae was prophetic.  As this most controversial document celebrates its 50th anniversary, we can see how Humanae Vitae got human nature right.  It’s time to give this masterful document its due.
